What do you do when you're in a bike racing club?  Ride... a lot!  Even though all but our track squad already has racing underway, you'll still see the blue train on the road, path, trails, and track from six in the morning till dark.  Who needs sleep?  We've got intervals to do.

Roadies are on the lake front path at dawn at least twice a week, and Joe and Zach even earned "placement in our little local paper":http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/weather/chi-wx-weathersummary0417apr17,0,3805983.story for their efforts.  Wednesdays after work, Saturday and Sunday mornings, you name the time, there's a group assembling, in any weather.

Meanwhile our trackies are getting their legs back with morning and weekend workouts at Northbrook.  "Ed":http://www.flickr.com/photos/ewwhite/sets/72157617006497020/ and "John":http://www.flickr.com/photos/troppmann/3365913086/in/set-628410/ tease us all with their sunny day photos from the velodrome.  Smaller groups have been making the trek, but with clinics starting up Monday, the off season is over.

And finally, that dirty trail crew has been getting, well, dirty.  With better weather and trails opening, "group rides have gotten BIG,":http://www.flickr.com/photos/19091172@N02/3460600110/ and Half Acre n' friends had more than 15 out at Palos this weekend.  With Al still callin' trail conditions, the Saturday morning ride on non-race weekends is becoming a standard.

So, hooray for spring!  Dump the lobsterclaws and nokians, it's time for some sunblock n' short sleeves.  See you out there.
